Standard Speciﬁcation for Aluminum-Alloy Permanent Mold Castings
This standard is issued under the ﬁxed designation B 108; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year of original adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. A superscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.

1. Scope* 1.1 This speciﬁcation2 covers aluminum-alloy permanent mold castings designated as shown in Table 1. 1.2 This speciﬁcation is not intended for aluminum-alloy permanent mold castings used in aerospace applications. 1.3 Alloy and temper designations are in accordance with ANSI H35.1. The equivalent uniﬁed numbering system alloy designations are in accordance with Practice E 527. 1.4 For acceptance criteria for inclusion of new aluminum and aluminum alloys and their properties in this speciﬁcation, see Annex A1 and Annex A2. 1.5 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard.
